Aluminé

Aluminé lies in a high mountain area, situated in the central west region of the province, close to Lanín National Park. In mapuche language, its name means “bright saucepan”. It is located on the right banks of its homonymous river, 954 miles away from Buenos Aires and 204 miles from Neuquén Capital City. Its uniquely beautiful landscape is full of pehuen or araucaria araucana forests, a millenarian tree that abounds in the area. It lies within the Patagonia of Lakes area.

Copahue-Caviahue

In the middle of the Andes Mountain Range, in the northwest of Neuquén province, lies Caviahue – Copahue, a wonderful tourist centre. It is located almost 6,666 feet above sea level, near the Argentine – Chilean international border crossing, at the foot of Copahue volcano (9,750 feet above sea level), and on the banks of a large water mirror formed by Caviahue lake (5,333 feet above sea level). It lies 979 miles from Buenos Aires, and 229 miles from Neuquén Capital City. This town, along with Locopué and Las Lajas, constitutes the tourist area called Thermal Patagonia.
It holds hotels, inns, lodges, apart-hotels, cottages and ATLs (Alternative Tourist Lodging).

Junín de los Andes

To the southwest of Neuquén province, there is a special place on the Andes Mountain Range: the city of Junín de los Andes. It is the most important city in the Huiliches (“people of the south”) department, and Chimehuín (“place with houses”) River flows near it. It is located 237 miles from Neuquén Capital City, within the tourist area called Patagonia of Lakes. It is the oldest city in the province.

Neuquén Capital City

Neuquén city, the capital of the province, lies in the east of Neuquén territory, in the Confluencia department, where two important rivers converge: Limay and Neuquén. They are the natural boundaries of the province, and they give life to the productive valley that lies among the typical plains of the Patagonian relief. The city is located within the tourist area called Steppe of Dinosaurs.


North of Neuquén

In a mountain space, occupied in a great proportion by the transitional Andes Mountain Range and Viento (wind) Mountain Range, lies a tourist area called “Patagonia of Valleys and Volcanoes”, where everything is magic and adventure…
This area is constituted by the towns of Las Ovejas, Huinganco, Andacollo, Tricao Malal, Barrancas, El Cholar, Chos Malal, El Huecú, Varvarco, Buta Ranquil and Manzano Amargo. It lies approximately 1,000 miles away from Buenos Aires, and more than 250 miles from Neuquén Capital City

San Martín de los Andes

It is a typical mountain village located in the southwest of Neuquén Province, within the Lacar department. It is surrounded by a privileged and amazing place: Lanín National Park. It is part of the Patagonia of Lakes tourist area, and it lies 1,020 miles away from Buenos Aires, and 270 miles away from Neuquén Capital City. The “valley of the Gods”, called like this by the indigenous people that inhabited the place, is waiting for you to discover it.

Villa El Chocón

This unique and peaceful village is located in the east of Neuquén province, in the Confluencia department and within the tourist area called “Steppe of Dinosaurs”. It lies 50 miles. away from Neuquén Capital City. It was founded on the west bank of Ezequiel Ramos Mejía dam, and it is constituted by a plain oasis typical of the Patagonian desert relief.

Villa La Angostura

In the south of Neuquén Province, within Los Lagos department, there is a mountain village situated on the northeast bank of Nahuel Huapi Lake, in the middle of the Patagonian Mountain Range. This peaceful and beautiful mountain village lies surrounded by majestic formations, and it is part of the entrance gate to Arrayanes National Park, a unique place in the world where there is a natural forest of this tree species.


Villa Pehuenia

This small and picturesque village was founded in the centre west area of the province of Neuquén, surrounded by a majestic mountain range. It is situated on the northern bank of Aluminé Lake, among pehuen covered mountains, prehistoric trees that give their name to the town. It lies 991 miles away from Buenos Aires, and 192 miles from Neuquén Capital City, in Aluminé department, within the tourist area called Patagonia of Lakes.

Villa Traful

Villa Traful is located on the Andes Mountain Range, in the department of Los Lagos, in the southwest area of the province. It occupies a fraction of Nahuel Huapi National Park, and it lies on the southern bank of Traful Lake. This mountain village is situated within the tourist area Patagonia of Lakes, and it lies 336 miles from Neuquén Capital City.
